Purchasing from our store


Product information and Images
While every effort has been made to ensure that products are accurately depicted on this site, differences may occur. In particular, you should be aware that colours may not exactly match that which you see on your monitor. For this reason, if you are unhappy with the colour of the product you have purchased, we will be happy to give you a refund after you have sent back the product (subject to the returns policy below). Please note that the exception to this is any product that required a specific length cut from a larger quantity, for example, lace, braid, fabric, etc. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund on the basis of colour expectations for such products.

Delivery times
Here at Ortensia Sewing Supplies we know how frustrating is to run out of a much needed supply in the middle of a project. For this reason, we endeavour to dispatch all orders within 48 hours of payment being cleared (a little extra over the weekends!). How long will it take to be delivered? Well, that depends on your location and Australia Post, our carrier. Please see the Australia Post website for delivery times to your location - Ortensia Sewing Supplies is based in Canberra, Australia.

Out of stock items
We endeavour to carry stock of all listed items. If an item is out of stock, you will be able to view it but unable to purchase it through the website. In very rare circumstances, an item may be listed as available on this website when it is in fact out of stock. In such circumstances, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer to backorder the item for you or refund your payment in full.

If you are interested in a specific item that is listed as out of stock, please contact us and we will let you know when it will be available. In certain circumstances we may be able to put in a special request from our suppliers.

Shipping costs
Shipping costs include actual postage charged by Australia Post (on the basis of total parcel weight and cubic volume), as well as packaging and handling costs.

Overseas Orders
We are happy to accept orders from customers outside of Australia. In most cases, if you are logged into the store and have provided an overseas address, the appropriate shipping charges will appear during the checkout process. However, if you are uncertain of the details or require different arrangements, please Contact Us with your requirements and we discuss your requirements.
Please note that all prices quoted on this site are in Australian dollars.

Minimum order
Our minimum order value is $10.00 (incl. GST) exclusive of delivery and handling charges.


Returns Policy



Refunds
If you are not satisfied with any purchases you make from this site simply return your purchase within 10 days for a full refund. The only exception to this is any product that required a specific length cut from a larger quantity, for example, lace, braid, fabric, etc. We regret that we are unable to offer a refund for such products.
Unfortunately we cannot refund freight and handling charges on delivery and return of goods.

Goods damaged in transit
If your purchase is damaged in transit we will send you a "no charge" replacement, freight free. You will need to return the damaged product (or fragments which demonstrate reasonable evidence of breakage in the case of international orders) to us for assessment.

Method of refunds
Ortensia Sewing Supplies will refund to your PayPal account, bank account or we can post a cheque.

How to make a return
All we ask is that you provide the information outlined below, together with the product in its original condition and its packaging. We will also need a copy of your order confirmation or invoice.
