These spring steel bones (also called stays) are great for use in corsets! They come already tipped and are made of nylon coated spring steel (coating prevents the bones from rusting). A garment made using these bones should not be machine washed, but you can wash it buy hand. They flex forward and back, but not side to side.
These bones are available in many lengths to suit any style of corset. They are all 5.5mm wide and 0.75mm thick (steel cross section of 5mm x 0.33mm). This boning is slightly less stiff than the continuous boning also on offer. SeeSpring steel boning - continuous. It is equally as suitable for corsets however, resulting in a slightly less stiff finish.
